Wayne McCoy
Description: Tallish with dirty brown hair and a relatively thin face with a slight stubble on his chin. Always wears black to look more menacing and shadows always seem to deepen when he's around. A real Western gentleman around the ladies, he is tough as nails around those unworthy of his respect or pity. Clichés: Shadow Vampire (3d8), Gunslinger (4), Western Lawman (4). Hook: Relentless in his pursuit of justice and bound by a code of honor. Languages: English, Spanish. Equipment: Old duster, cool hat, 2 six-guns, double-barrel shotgun (on horse), double-derringer (up sleeve), 2 silver knives, 2 wooden stakes, black horse. Tale: Wayne fought in the Mexican War and "retired" to California during the gold rush. After his town was over-run by a gang of thugs, he volunteered to become sheriff. In the process of dealing with the thugs, he became entangled with an influential landowner who had a way of frightening the citizenry into bowing to his wishes. That landowner was really a blood minion of a powerful vampire elder seeking refuge from European politics. Impressed with his ruthless zeal, the vampire made Wayne into her child in darkness. But his code of honor overcame ties of blood as Wayne was forced to administer final justice to his sire for crimes against humanity. Now a creature of the night, Wayne wanders the western United States, constantly having the role of hero placed upon his reluctant shoulders.
Shadow Vampire: Being supernaturally strong and tough; not aging, breathing, or suffering from most poisons or diseases; soaking most forms of damage; recovering quickly from wounds; dominating progeny, blood minions, and the weak-minded; manipulating the stuff of shadows; physically attacking people and sucking their blood. Includes a mandatory Hook that makes him vulnearble to sunlight, fire, and supernatural attacks. He can also be immobilized with a stake to the heart. Gunslinger: Being quick rather than dead, shooting with two pistols in either hand, having a serious reputation. Western Lawman: Roundin' up a posse, trackin', ridin', survivin', brawlin', shootin', interrogatin', and hangin'.
