Marcelo Saltore

Description: Marcelo has recently purchased a large house on the edge of town, and has been hiring locals to fix it up (so anyone who's hiring themselves out as a handy-man or carpenter would have met him). Other than that he pays cash, and speaks yankee English with the hint of an accent. Folks in town don't know much about him.

A couple weeks after he arrived, there was an extra car attached to the train that was full of crates that were delivered to the house. Word from the train crew is that they were heavy and clanked a bit when being moved. Oh, and a couple had liquids in them (you could "just tell").

Equipment: Enormous house with fully-equipped laboratory.

Tale: Marcelo has recently moved to Silverlode from his place outside of New York City to pursue his research. He is attempting to make magical devices, objects that can use mechanical or chemical energy to produce mystical results.

Silverlode, with its mystical power and numerous mines seemed a perfect place. He has a huge laboratory in the house he's purchased, filled with all sorts of big SCIENCE gadgets.

He stumbled on magic and is trying to now see how he can marry that to his inventions and SCIENCE.

He doesn't need to work, as several previous inventions have resulted in him having investments in New York and back in the old country that he derives income from.

Mad Scientist: Being a brilliant scientist, visualizing solutions, having an extraordinary imagination, creating diabolical inventions that blatantly violate the laws of physics, being extraordinarily well-educated, forgetting anything not of scientific interest, not being able to do anything in the real-world by himself. (Advanced once)

New Sorceror: Learning magic, building magical machines, conducting "experiments", being sensitive to magical phenomena.

Gadgeteer: Always having the right gadget for a given situation, using those gadgets. (Advanced once)

Wealthy Investor: Not having to work for a living, owning nice stuff, managing investments.

Billy - Red Shirt Assistant: Suffering all manner of pain and suffering (including death) in the pursuit of his job; taking damage that would otherwise affect someone else (notably Marcelo).

Billy - Scrounger: Finding parts and materials for Marcelo's experiments, sorting through garbage, graverobbing.
